Got a gig to do tomorrow
Hey, what's good? Pretty good week, can't complain. I got some more info on schools because, as I mentioned, I might go back and get my master's. But today, I'm focused on tomorrow's wedding that I'm gonna DJ. I gotta go and gather all the songs.
So you guys take it easy and I'll talk to ya'll Monday!

How was the weekend?
So I never gave you guys an update on the past weekend. I announced my sons' football games on Saturday, which was a lot of fun. I called some plays and played some music in between quarters. I can't wait to do it again!
I would do it again this Saturday but I have a wedding to do that day. Which reminds me, I have to start getting the songs together for it so I'll talk to you tomorrow. Take care!

The Foreign Exchange - Asking For A Friend (Official Video)
My first time trying out this sharing thing. This is a dope video from The Foreign Exchange (Phonte and Nicolay), "Asking for a Friend", from their new album, "Tales From the Land of Milk and Honey" (I bought it but haven't listened to it yet, I'm sure it's great though).

Gig tomorrow, 12th anniversary Sunday
Tomorrow, I have my gig announcing a football game. It'll be for my kids' youth football teams, the Foss Jr. Falcons of Tacoma. I never announced a game before so it should be fun.
Also, I'd like to give a shout out to my beautiful wife Tiffany. Our anniversary will be on Sunday, which will make 12 years of bliss. I'll take her out that night after taking the kids to the M's game during the day (my favorite AL team, the White Sox, comes to town).
Have a great weekend, go Jr. Falcons, go White Sox, Go Pack Go and see you Monday!

Back to school?
So today, I was shopping around for graduate schools. I was never the biggest fan of college but I did enjoy it when I took summer courses. There I could focus on one course at a time, put my all into it and have the rest of the summer to chill. Maybe it could be a similar situation with taking one course at a time with graduate school but instead of chillin' on my time off, I could be working a full-time job. Also, I would enjoy graduate school if it was for a degree that I was passionate about.
That's why I am looking into a music business major or something similar. If I want to be a full-time DJ, it would help if I know the business before entering it. And the GI bill would cover it (and a housing allowance for my family). Also, if I'm still struggling to get a full-time job outside of the music world (I'm still applying and going to interviews), maybe a master's in music business will open some doors for me.
It wouldn't hurt. And it would beat staying home all day.
Until tomorrow, stay up, people...

Read my music reviews on Amazon.com
Hey ya'll. As a DJ, I like to listen to a lot of music. Some time ago, I used to write reviews on Amazon.com. Although I haven't written one in years, you can check them out to see my tastes in music (listed under the name, E.J. Rupert). I've been trying to add a widget to this blog so you can get to the reviews faster but I haven't figured it out yet. So until then, click here to read it and enjoy!

Pretty successful week
Happy Friday, ya'll.
It was a pretty good week. I started off with a gig on Sunday which went great. While speaking on the mic, I delivered so well that I used that same confidence for my two job interviews this week. I had a face-to-face on Tuesday (which I wore my new suit for) and a phone interview on Thursday. I think I did well on both of them, or at least better than on my previous interviews. Finally, I sent thank-you emails to some of the employers that either rejected me or didn't call me after the interview. I heard that it'll help the employers keep you in mind but I dunno. (What would I have to lose? I'm already not getting the job.) At the very least, it'll make me feel good because I'll have the last word and not them.
Oh yeah, I'm also looking into going back to school while looking for full-time work. Maybe I can expand on this entertainment thing. I'll let you know how that goes too.
See you next week!

Sorry I'm late but...
Hey everyone, sorry I'm late but I was busy all day shopping for a new phone, running errands, etc. No time for an entry today (unless this counts as one) so feel free to look at my previous posts and I'll hit you all up Thursday afternoon. Peace...

What I played (8-9-15)
How's everyone doing?
Here's the playlist from Sunday's gig, the anniversary party. These songs are from a variety of genres and I got plenty of compliments from the guests (and pretty nice tips, too). Can't take all of the credit, though: the couple of honor gave me some song ideas, I expanded on the ideas, and there you go. Feel free to use these songs for your next anniversary party. And I'll talk to you all tomorrow...

Pics from last night's anniversary party
Alright, ya'll, let's start off the week right...
I had a great time deejaying this 30th anniversary party last night in Puyallup! Below are some pics.
Well, I gotta go and prepare for my job interview in the morning. Tomorrow, I'll post my playlist from this party. Later!

The weekend is near!
Alright, it's Friday!
Looking forward to a good weekend. I got a gig on Sunday to DJ at an anniversary party. Also, I get to pick up my suit that I'm gonna wear for my interview on Tuesday. And the weather should be decent.
I'll tell ya'll how the gig went on Monday. Take care!

New old school mix for #TBT
Hey ya'll, what's good?
I had a phone interview for a full-time job but I think I bombed it. I wasn't as smooth and relaxed as I wanted to be but I made it through. Maybe it was the thought of, "If I say one wrong thing, I won't get the job." Or maybe I'm just trippin'.
Anyway, in honor of Throwback Thursday, here's an old school mix. Enjoy!

Got another interview
Happy Hump Day!
So I got a phone interview tomorrow (for a full-time job, that is). Hopefully, this will lead to a job!
In the meantime, I still do my thing as a DJ with my next gig coming on Sunday. Check out my mixtapes on Mixcloud and Facebook. And don't forget to like, comment, follow, etc. Thanks!

Random stuff
Good afternoon!
I wanna take the time to promote my father's book: "The Name of This Game" by Everett Rupert. You can purchase it and his other books on Amazon and other book sites.
As for my own stuff, listen to my mixtapes on Mixcloud and Facebook. See you tomorrow!

Happy Monday, happy bday
Good news! The two potential customers that I interviewed with became confirmed customers! One of the gigs is an anniversary party this Sunday. Should be fun!
Also, I'd like to say Happy Birthday to my 11-year-old Dylan!
Everyone have a great Monday!
